We have now sent off all our entries for this years Henries Awards. The Henries are the ultimate accolades in greeting card publishing, and each year some 14,000 cards are entered, so we have strong competition!

We were nominated most promising young designer in 2010 and our gift wrap that we design for Glick won in the best gift wrappings category last year so we have our fingers crossed that our cards will get through this year!

This is the last year that Claire can enter the most promising young designer category!

The Henries winners are announced at an amazing awards ceremony on Thursday October 4th at The Lancaster London Hotel in London. We are looking forward to it already!

Cards for The Queen

The cards we all sent to The Queen were taken to Buckingham Palace by Sharon Little, Jakki Brown and Warren Lomax on behalf of The Greeting Card Industry.  Over 300 greeting cards from the industry were delivered by hand on the Friday before the Diamond Jubilee celebratory weekend.

A letter was sent alongside the cards with the message "You will be pleased to hear that Great Britain leads the world in greeting card designs and sending"

The card that we sent is right at the front of the basket with the Postbox on...

One of our favourite places for breakfast, Pigalle in Midtown, just off Broadway

Lovely eggs benedict mmmmmm.....

On a beautiful Sunday we decided to go on a sightseeing tour on an open top bus instead of going to the National Stationery Show. After visiting New York 13 times it was a first for us and it was great, we would highly recommend doing it, the Sunny day added to the experience.

We felt like true tourists ..

Central Park looks beautiful in the sunshine.

The Dakota Building, where John Lennon lived and died ..

We love the brownstone buildings!

Newlyweds, eating Hot Dogs.

The beautiful Guggenheim Gallery

The first part of the Bus tour was Uptown, we travelled on the West Side to the top of Central Park and into Harlem, then back along the East Side along Park Avenue.  We got off the bus at the Apple Store where we both treated ourselves to an ipad.
What a fantastic day!!

Happy Jubilee Weekend Everyone ...

What a treat! A full four days off work, pity the weather forecast doesn't look that good.
We were in London at the beginning of the week and the City looked lovely with all the shops decked out in red, white and blue.

I am off to deck my house with lots of our very own Paper Salad Union Jack Bunting, see you next week!
